The lowered plinth level of the 5-acre ground in Mira Road floods the entire ground floor of the Orphanage along with the kitchen, the Dining Hall and the Dormitory for 4 months of the rainy season every year. Added to it is the water seeping from beneath the floor making it like a pool of water with the garbage from drains floating on the surface of water rendering it a source of various water-borne diseases.
The boys are shifted from here and all necessary steps are taken to safeguard their health and hygiene. But its time now that we should all come together and take up the construction of a New Orphanage Building with a Community Hall.
Consultations with the Architects and the Engineers have summed up the construction cost of this new project at Rs. 12 Crores.
